Trip to China!

In April, Ext'Asie is organizing for you a trip to China! We will leave for China on April 12 and return on April 27 and will visit several places such as Beijing, Xi’an, Guilin and Hong-Kong.

These places include several amazing places to see such as the Qin Terra - Cotta Warriors and ofcourse, the Great Wall of China. This might also be a great chance for you to practice your Mandarin and learn a new culture.

Hope to see you in China as well!

Origami class

Ext'Asie held a free Origami class for the students of EDHEC on October 18, 2012. The attendees learnt to make several different shapes using nothing but paper. A few of things made included "panda", "grue", "cigale", "lapin gonflable" as well as a dice.

I must say that origami might be slightly addictive as Pavan has been seen spending half the classes practicing Origami.

As an afterthought, Elvis is an amazing photographer. Go Elvis!!!!

Diwali evening!

Ext'Asie along with the Indian students at EDHEC celebrated one of the biggest Indian festivals, Diwali, on November 13, 2012. The event consisted of a traditional Hindu worshiping which was followed by an Indian dinner. Ofcourse, it is always hard to celebrate an Indian festival without a bit of dancing and it was the same for Diwali when people took to the empty area in Salle des pas Perdus and danced away on the latest Punjabi beats. It sure was awesome having people from around the globe dancing the Indian way.

Paul was AGAIN seen sobbing and crying about the spiciness of the food, I mean c'mon Paul! However, the EDHEC Indian community found a hero in Alex who loved the food and laughed at Paul with every morsel he ate.

The association thanks all those who came and helped to make it an amazing event!

Laser game

Woohoo! On October 16, 2012 it was time to forget about the association, get our guns and shoot fellow members. Yes, we went for a Laser game!

According to various rumors, Pavan was killed over 1000 times (I think its exaggerated) while Paul and Alex went around killing everyone in sight. Alex was heard telling Paul that he will take no prisoners, and well, he really didn't. Ofcourse, the members who got massacred (Pavan) came up with excuses like "OMG! I was wearing white!", but well he still did die about 1000 times.

Association Indian dinner

The association Ext'Asie got together for their first meal together at an Indian restaurant called Taj Mahal in Lille on October 08, 2012 with the new recruits of the association. A very good meal, slightly spicy and always great to have Indian people to advice us about the dishes!
There were a lot of weird moments during the dinner  though as some people just couldn't handle even the non-spicy food. Paul was heard commenting, "I ordered non spicy food, even this is spicy!". Sadly, Olivier was in complete agreement of it as well (While he drank glass after glass of water). Ofcourse, an even funnier moment was when Ibrahim started drinking (He had a single glass of vodka). However, it can't be confirmed if he is always like that or if he really did get slightly drunk.

The Association

The association Ext'Asie is a group of both French and international students who like to learn about as well as promote Asian culture here at EDHEC! Ext'Asie has promoted Asian culture in various ways such as Cinema, Cuisine as well as literature. In 2012, the association organized projections of various films from China, Japan, Korea and India. Moreover, we have had an exposition of Chinese jewelry along with the opening of a mangatheque for all you manga lovers! Thus, Ext'Asie aims not only to meet fans of the Asian culture but also people from various backgrounds in order to support the school to promote a culture that surely deserves to be more well known.
